Homework

Homework at Old Guildford Public School has been designed to:

            - Consolidate new learnt skills

            - Increase confidence and fluency in reading

            - Help students develop self-motivating work patterns and routine

            - Strengthen home and school bonds

            - Support learning in the classroom

Homework is handed out by class teachers weekly. If you would like an additional copy of the homework, please speak to your child's class teacher.

  • Get your child involved in house chores
  • Premier’s Sporting Challenge  https://app.education.nsw.gov.au/sport/psc
  • Write a shopping list – real or window shopping online to a budget
  • Exercise together
  • Menu plan
  • Cooking – following a recipe, measuring ingredients, learning about healthy foods.
  • Grow flowers/vegetables in your garden. Record their growth using photos or graphs.
  • Board games – uno, scrabble, monopoly, dominos, chess just to name a few favourites!  
  • Collecting/sorting/creating using leaves, sticks, feathers, flowers, shells recycled materials such as bottle tops, keys, paper.
  • Build using lego, blocks, magnetic blocks or recycled material (build a newspaper tower as tall as you can)!
  • Investigate your family tree together.
  • Learn a musical instrument
